Ads Composer Roles & Permissions

This guide outlines the process of granting role-level permissions through your platform’s Governance Console. Proper role assignment is essential for managing user access effectively and ensuring security across your workspace or customer setup. This article provides step-by-step instructions on creating and assigning roles, emphasizing best practices and specific permissions tailored to your operational requirements.

Note: Do not create or edit Roles without first consulting your System Admin. Appropriate Roles for all users should have been made during Implementation.

To Grant a Role Level Permission

  1. Click the New Tab icon Space Add New Tab Icon..

  2. Under the Governance Console, click All Settings within Platform Setup.

  3. On the Platform Settings window, select Workspace Roles or Global Roles within Manage Workspace or Manage Customer, respectively.

    Note: It is best practise to use Global level Roles.

  4. In the top right corner of the Roles (Settings) window, click Create Role. To learn more about creating a role, see Add a Role.

  5. On the Add Role window, under Select Permissions, search and select from the below Ad Composer permissions and click Save in the bottom right corner.

Note that Ads Composer has both positive and negative permissions. It is therefore not recommended to give users all permissions as standard.

  • Positive Permissions - These allow the user to perform additional actions

  • Negative Permissions - These restrict what the user is allowed to do

    Allows users to view and use the Ads Composer.

    Dark Post Publish Only

    Allows users to create Dark Post Ads and restrict them from publishing organic posts.

    Dark Post Unique Story Id Option

    Allows users to create the same or different post IDs for the same ad with multiple targeting. For example, If a campaign is created with 4 target audiences and 1 creative (4 Ad Sets, 1 Ad in each Ad set), the user can post Ad with the same ID or a different one. The different IDs will help in easy GA, DCM configuration and analysis.

    Allows users to select only those creatives that have been approved and use them while composing ads.

    Initiate Workflow Process

    Allows users to initiate a workflow process for the ad; see here for more details.

    Note:

    • Ads Composer can only be used to create Ads for Ad Accounts that a user has access to with either of the permissions "All Permissions" or "Publish Ads". These can be managed via the Account Settings page.

    • Global Admins automatically have All Permissions access to all accounts.

    • You must also have the Media Uploader: All permission if you wish to create ads.
