Account Mapping in Sandbox

Updated

The account mapping feature allows you to test the workflow of production accounts in the sandbox environment but with the help of a test account, thereby eliminating any risk to your live accounts. This feature is available in both Standard and Premium Sandboxes.

How does it work?

  • When a refresh is triggered, along with the configurations, dummy accounts are created in Sandbox in place of the social accounts of Production. These dummy placeholder accounts of production are not connected to social channels, ensuring no message comes into or goes out from Sandbox to these social channels.

  • However, you can use account mapping to leverage and test the workflows setup on these production accounts within a Sandbox.

  • A single sandbox test account of a particular social channel can be mapped to multiple dummy accounts of the production of the same channel type.

Points to Remember

  • Account Mapping can be done only in the Sandbox (both Standard and Premium) environment.

  • You can edit and update the account mapping anytime from the Account Mapping window in Connected Environments.

  • As soon as the Account Mapping is saved, any new message that is fetched into the Sandbox will appear against all the mapped dummy accounts.
