A view from Sprinklr’s Austin office

Where music meets technology

Known as the “Live Music Capital of the World,” home to South by Southwest (SXSW) and one of the largest universities in the United States, Austin, Texas, is a diverse community that is rich with culture and talent. Austin is also referred to as “Silicon Hills” because of the growing number of technology companies either headquartered or with regional offices in the area, including Sprinklr.

With the opening of the new Austin office, we took some time to chat with Austinite-Sprinklrite, Mallory Bowen and hear what gets her excited about growing her career and working in the new space.

Growing with Sprinklr

Mallory began her Sprinklr journey in January of 2019 as a Sales Development Representative (SDR) with no sales experience, but a strong desire to learn. She quickly grew into a Senior SDR position and currently serves as an Enterprise Account Executive, where her focus is to identify and qualify potential Sprinklr customers and help them understand the value of Sprinklr. She also works with current customers to continually uncover and realize new ways to harness the power of Sprinklr within their organizations. “It’s no question that Sprinklr’s technology is amazing, and it’s exciting to uncover more use cases each day within the platform,” Mallory says. “When COVID-19 hit, the relevance of needing a solution to listen and engage with digital audiences had never been higher. Being the best at what we do only makes my job easier and more rewarding.”

Mallory was one of the first Account Executives to move into the new Enterprise segment, which is more down-market focused than traditional large-enterprise Sprinklr customers. “I help provide feedback on how we should position our platform for this new segment — it feels like a mini-startup within our company,” Mallory says. “It’s been an irreplaceable opportunity to put my fingerprints on something new and be able to look back over the last year and a half and say ‘wow, I really helped with that. Look how far we’ve come!’ Sprinklr presents a ton of leadership opportunities like this that you can’t get anywhere else.”

Mallory and other Sprinklrites have opportunities to grow their careers in a multitude of ways — whether that’s becoming a team leader; moving into large enterprise sales; or even switching to another department, like solution consulting, success, or training. “Management makes it a priority to understand what our career goals look like and help remove barriers to help us achieve those goals,” Mallory says. “One of the great things about working here is this mutual accountability for one another’s success.”

Inside the Austin office

The new Austin office was once an old shipping facility and remodeled by the Livestrong Foundation to serve as an office. The vast space boasts abundant natural lighting and includes a beautiful open kitchen with complimentary meals, a workout facility, and a game room. When we spoke, Mallory said that there was a ping-pong tournament in progress. The office is also pet-friendly. “The open layout puts everyone on the same playing field,” Mallory says. “On a typical day you will run into executives in the lobby, and we all have a normal human interaction.”

The office culture is reflective of the city itself. “Austin and tech go together like peanut butter and jelly,” Mallory says. “Like Austin, the office has a super-friendly, laid-back vibe to it. Everyone is very open-minded, inclusive, and has a ton of fun together.”

Returning to the office has been very positive for Mallory after working from home during the pandemic. “I love coming into work and seeing my coworkers as well as people from other teams,” she says. “There’s so much value in grabbing lunch together or bouncing ideas off of one another; it definitely puts a lot of joy back into working that I lost during quarantine.”

Mallory recommends to anyone starting or growing their career to consider the Sprinklr Sales Development University program and take advantage of the resources available.

If you have a desire to grow, continuously learn, and be a leader regardless of title, you can find all of that at Sprinklr,” she says. Or if you’re looking for a cool place to work, with endless perks and nice people, you can find that here too!
