Reasons for Accounts to be in Action Required state
Updated
The newly introduced state, Action Required, indicates that the account is partially affected, meaning that publishing on the account may be impacted but reporting would be working just fine. The account may be affected due to a variety reasons such as:
missing permissions or roles on the channel,
API migration (such as the one we recently had for Pinterest ) or
new feature introduction (such as the LinkedIn Company Page Direct Message feature ).
While API migrations and new feature introductions are a rarity, it is much more common that a user adding account to Sprinklr is missing permission or role on the concerned channel. This may lead to certian functionalities going missing on the account when added in Sprinklr. We will indicate all such missing permissions or roles in the way shown below:
The diagnostics tab of any account will be visible to users from the accounts page or the engagement dashboard as well - how you can get to the diagnostics tab is covered in the articles linked respectively.
Once you see the missing roles or permission, you can take action on including those while re-adding the account into Sprinklr but first, let us cover what each permission means and what it impacts in Sprinklr and then we will cover how you can ensure these permissions or roles are given to Sprinklr when re-adding the account.
Facebook Page
When integrating a Facebook Page with Sprinklr, certain permissions are required to ensure seamless functionality and access to essential features. These permissions allow Sprinklr to retrieve and manage information from the connected Facebook Page, such as page insights, posts, or messages. Each permission is associated with specific features, ensuring that only the necessary data is accessed and handled securely.
Granting the appropriate permissions is a critical step during the integration process. If certain permissions are not granted, specific features or functionality may be limited or unavailable. For example, if the Manage Pages permission is not provided, Sprinklr will be unable to publish posts on your behalf. Similarly, a lack of the Read Insights permission means that performance metrics from your Facebook Page cannot be displayed within the app.
Below is a permissions matrix to help you understand the required permissions, their purposes, and the impact of not granting them:
Permission | Purpose | Impact if Not Granted |
Create and Manage content on your Page | Enables Sprinklr to manage content, such as posting updates. | Unable to schedule, publish, or delete posts on your Facebook Page. |
Access Your Page and App Insights | Provides access to page performance metrics and analytics. | Performance data and insights will not be available in Sprinklr. |

Read content posted on the Page | Enables Sprinklr to fetch your previously published posts as part of backfill | Page metadata and backfill of previously published posts will not be available |
Access your Facebook Ads and related stats | Enables Sprinklr to provide ads published previously and its reporting data | Backfill of previouly published ads and its reporting data will not be available |
On Facebook, you can also invite other users to your page with a role. You can learn more about how to give this access here: https://www.facebook.com/help/187316341316631/.
Further, you can give someone 'task' or 'partial' access to your page on Facebook, which can ensure that people can only perform specific actions with your page via other management tools such as Meta Business Suite. Different tasks and their level of access are mentioned in the table provided below:
Task | Description | Required in Sprinklr for |
Content | Create, manage or delete posts and any content on the Page. Protect your copyright content. | Publishing |
Community Activity | Review and respond to comments, remove unwanted comments and report activity. | Engagement |
Messages and calls | Send and respond to messages and calls as the Page. | Engagement |
Ads | Create, manage and delete ads for the Page | Ads & Marketing |
Insights | See how the Page, content and ads perform. | Reporting |
Leads | Access and manage leads, including downloading leads, creating lead ads and more. | Ads & Marketing |
If a task access is missing, for example - Content task access is missing on your user when adding page to Sprinklr, then publishing of posts from Sprinklr will fail.
To give or update someone's task access, you can follow the steps outlined in Facebook's own help article here .
