Set Product Audiences for Facebook Catalog Sales

While composing the Facebook Catalog Sales campaign within Ads Composer, you have the ability to target audiences using Product Audiences. This allows you to control your targeting using various options. In this article, we will explore these options.

This capability is only available for the Facebook Catalog Sales objective.

To Target Specific Audience

While retargeting for dynamic ads, you can remind people about the products they've browsed on your website, mobile app, marketplace, instant checkout, or IG shopping but didn't purchase. Retargeting people with dynamic ads allow people to automatically see the products or similar products to what they saw previously.

In the Target Audience section, select from an existing target audience, or click Create New Audience to create a new target audience for your Ad.

  1. On the Create the audience you want to target to create the ad sets for Product Set window, enter the Name of your audience.
  2. Select Specific Audience within the Product Audiences section.

  3. Select the Product Set which people interacted with from the drop-down. You can also add a new product set by clicking Add New Product Set in the top right corner of the Product Set drop-down.

    Note

    The Product Set selected is used for determining who should be a part of your target audience. You can select a Product Set that is the same or different than the one selected in the Campaign Details section (that one is used for determining what products will be shown in the Ads).

  4. Now, select the audience Behaviour that you want to target from the given options. For more information, see Target Specific Audience Behaviour.

To Target Broad Audience

Broad Audience targeting allows you to reach people who've expressed interest in your products (or products similar to yours), even if they haven't visited your website or app yet. When you target a broad audience, people in this audience automatically see products from your catalog that are probably relevant to them.

In the Target Audience section, select from an existing target audience, or click Create New Audience to create a new target audience for your Ad.

  1. On the Create the audience you want to target to create the ad sets for Product Set window, enter the Name of your audience.
  2. Select Broad Audience within the Product Audiences section.
  3. Check the box alongside Exclude certain people who have interacted with your business.

  4. Now, under the Exclude people with following Behaviours section, select the behaviors you want to exclude from the drop-down alongside the no. of Days and the Product Set you want to exclude people from. These are the following options:
    • Purchased Product
    • Viewed Product
    • Added to cart

Target Specific Audience Behaviour

Term Description
Choose from Predefined Behaviours - If you select this, you can target a specific audience with the following behaviors:
Purchased Products Target audiences who have purchased in the last 180 days. The default selection will be 14 days.
Viewed or Added to Cart but not Purchased Target audiences who have viewed and added your product to their carts but not purchased in the last 180 days. The default selection will be 14 days.
Viewed Products Target audiences who have only viewed your product in the last 180 days. The default selection will be 14 days.
Purchased Products Target audiences who have purchased your product in the last 180 days. The default selection will be 14 days.
Create Custom Behaviour Combination - If you select this, you can set your own custom behaviors combination of your audiences.

Include people with following Behaviours

Include people with the following behaviors in your retargeting list from the drop-down who:

  • Viewed Product
  • Added to Cart
  • Purchase Product

You can choose no. of days (maximum no. of days are 180) you wish to include specific audience behaviors for in your retargeting list.

Exclude people with following Behaviours

 

Exclude people with the following behaviors from your retargeting list from the drop-down who:

  • Viewed Product
  • Added to Cart
  • Purchase Product

You can choose no. of days (maximum no. of days are 180) you wish to exclude specific audience behaviors for from your retargeting list.
