Create a Tiered approval

Organizations create specific approval processes to manage budgets and invoices, as well as creative and marketing initiatives. Approval processes and workflows help automate simple, repeatable tasks so that you can focus on the work that matters most. Here, we cover details regarding Tiered approval creation.

Steps to Create Tiered Approval

Tiered approval can be created under the Governance Console within the Platform Module. Please refer to the mentioned steps to create a tiered approval workflow.

  1. Click the New Tab icon➕. Click All Settings under Platform Modules.

  2. On the Platform Settings window, select Tiered Approvals from the list of options. You can also search for it in the search bar above.

  3. Click Create Tiered Approval in the top right corner of the Tiered Approvals window.

  4. In the Create Tiered Approval window, fill in the basic details and Set Entry Criteria, as mentioned below in the table.

  5. Under Approval Steps, four different options are available to create tiered approval as mentioned below.

  6. Select the Approver Type and the Approver from the given dropdowns.

  7. Click Save in the bottom right corner to save your created Tiered Approval.

Term

Description

Name

Enter the name of the Tiered Approval.

Description

Enter an optional description for the Tiered Approval.

Approval for

Select whether the Tiered Approval is for Publishing, Paid, Media Plan, Consumer Post, or Article.

Priority

Set the priority of the Tiered Approval flow. Lower the value, the higher the priority. (i.e. 1 is high, 100 is low).

Send post-approval updates to

Select the post-approval updates from the drop-down menu. The following options are available: 

  • Author Only

  • Author and Approvers

Is Enabled

Select the box to activate the Tiered Approval.

Set Entry Criteria

Parameter

Select the property. The criteria can be based on custom properties, such as a message tag, or contain specific information like which user is posting and from which account. For example, “tag” in “robots.” In this section,' in' refers to IS, and 'not in' refers to IS NOT.

Condition

Select in or not in, according to your preference.

Value

Select the value for the parameter.

Add another Parameter

Add additional parameters to the Tiered Approval.

Approval Types

There are four types of approval in tiered approval: 

  1. Approval Queue: Using the approval queue, any one of the multiple users who are permitted to be in the queue can approve the message, or an individual user will need to approve the message before it can be sent to the next step. The client can also link an approval queue to an approval path, so you can visualize messages in engagement dashboard columns as they follow the tiered approval path.

  2. User: For every different channel, different kind of post, or different domain, you can create an approval path for a specific user in the domain who has expertise with regard to the brand posts.

  3. Application:  In Sprinklr Tieral Approval, a brand can approve their post via an application if any other app is already integrated with Sprinklr for the respective partner. With the help of application approval, the brand can avoid depending on the user's availability for approval.

  4. External user : In some specific use cases, post-approval is required directly from the brand or any external user from a third party. In Sprinklr Tiered Approval, users can add external user accounts in the platform and grant permission for post-approval as per their own requirements.

    Sprinklr allows multiple external content approvers (email based) as a part of tiered approval while publishing. When multiple external approvers are added, and one of them approves the content, the other approvers are notified about it.  

    Note: The capability to add multiple external users needs specific setup. Get in touch with your Success Manager to get this feature enabled in your environment.
