Dynamic Group Budget
Updated
Dynamic Group Budget automatically and continuously identifies the best auction opportunities for results across ad sets and optimizes towards the specified optimization goal of your paid initiative’s objective. Instead of managing budgets for each ad set individually, you can use a single Dynamic Group Budget to drive efficiency and improve ROI across your entire paid initiative.

Best Practices
To get the most out of Dynamic Group Budget, follow these best practices:
Campaign performance
Review performance at the paid initiative level instead of the individual ad set level, for a better understanding of results.
Paid Initiative budget
The minimum paid initiative daily budget amount required is $30 USD. The minimum paid initiative lifetime budget is calculated as -
The maximum of the remaining days multiplied by the minimum daily budget, OR
The minimum total budget plus the current spend.
For example, for 10 remaining days, the minimum lifetime budget is $300 USD (10 days multiplied by the minimum paid initiative daily budget of $30 USD).
Similar to campaign budgets, when using a daily budget, actual daily spend might be up to 50% higher than the daily budget amount on a given day.
Ad Format
Dynamic Group Budget only supports Sponsored Content ad formats, which are: single image, carousel, video, single job, event, document, and click-to-message ads.
Note: Accelerate campaigns only support the single image ad format.
Paid Initiative Settings
Ensure all ad sets in the initiative share the same objective, bidding strategy, and budget type (daily or lifetime).
You can vary Sponsored Content ad formats, audience targeting, and bid amounts (when using cost cap or manual bidding).
Note: Accelerate campaigns don’t support manual bidding. You also can’t change the paid initiative objective or the Dynamic Group Budget setting once the paid initiative is active.
Audience Size
Audience size might affect Dynamic Group Budget spend distribution. If the audience size across ad sets in a paid initiative is significantly different, ad sets with the largest audiences will likely spend more from the Dynamic Group Budget.
Bidding Strategy
We recommend following the bid suggestions at the ad set level. The bidding strategies that can be used at the ad set level are:
Maximum delivery
Cost cap
Manual bidding (not available for Accelerate campaigns)
Editing a Paid Initiative
We recommend running a paid initiative for at least one week before making any changes.
