Publishing scenarios after approval
Updated
In this article we will cover the various scenarios possible after the approval process is set for a post in Sprinklr.
What happens after message is sent for Approval via Workflow
When it comes to the actual publication time, there are three possible scenarios:
Scenario 1: The submitter has not defined the schedule time on the message. When the approver approves the message, the message gets published instantly as soon as it hits the schedule node in the workflow.
Scenario 2: The submitter has defined the schedule time on the message, and the approver approves it before the scheduled time. The post will go back to the Scheduled status and out for publication at the scheduled time.
Scenario 3: The submitter has scheduled the message, but the approver approved the message after the scheduled time. The workflow will publish the message as soon as the message gets approved and hits the schedule node in the workflow.
Furthermore, you will receive an email informing you that your message was approved and published
Prevent Message publishing when automated scheduling occurs after the defined schedule date
It is possible to prevent publishing of messages in the case of Scenario 3. Once DP: [STOP_PAST_SCHEDULE_TIME_APPROVED_POSTS_PUBLISHING_ENABLED] is enabled, then -
If the submitter has defined the schedule time on the post, but the approver approved the message after the scheduled time. The message is approved and hits the schedule action in the workflow, but it will not be published instantly. Instead, its status will get updated to Pending Reschedule. This message then can be rescheduled or recalled as necessary.
