Setup Profanity Moderation to Ensure Compliance of Shared Content

Updated

To ensure that only compliant content is shared from Advocacy that contains no profanity or other prohibited phrases, it is necessary to set up some content moderation rules.

Pain Points

Ensuring compliance with brand guidelines and maintaining consistency can be challenging when dealing with multiple content curators. Despite diligent manual moderation, there's still a possibility of certain specific keywords going unnoticed by moderators.

How Sprinklr Solves Content Moderation

In Sprinklr, we can set up double-layered moderation.

The first layer is on the Admin/Publishers themselves.

The second layer is on the end-user level.

Admin level moderation

Sometimes publishers can accidentally publish content that contains prohibited words like profanity or other specific texts. In order to track these and send them for proper approval we can set up moderation rules.

To set up this rule, navigate to the Rule Engine

  1. Under Sprinklr Social, navigate to Rule Engine

  2. From the dropdown in top-left select Outbound type rules and click Create New Rule.

  3. Add the required Account condition to apply these moderation rules on Advocacy account.

  4. Add the required moderation condition like ‘Is Profane’ or any specific phrase check with ‘Text Contains’ condition.

  5. After you have specified the conditions, either send the post for Approval to Content Manager or simply stop the publishing of the message.

User-Level Moderation

  1. Under Sprinklr Social navigate to Rule Engine

  2. From the dropdown in top-left select Consumer Post type rules and click Create New Rule.

  3. Add the required Account condition to apply these moderation rules on Advocacy type posts.

  4. Add Message Keywords condition and select the pre-defined profanity keyword list. You can always add or remove keywords in this list.

  5. After you have specified the conditions, you can either send the post into an Approval Queue or simply stop the publishing altogether.

Note: If a post is stopped by the user level rule, the user is notified appropriately on the site immediately that their post is pending approval.
