Create a Discourse Column

After the Discourse account is added, you will be able to pull in all your native Discourse Forum Conversations and reply on the same. In the Engagement Dashboard, Sprinklr offers Comments Discourse column types that can be added to the dashboard.

Before You Begin

Before you can add the Discourse column and begin engaging with users, you will first need to add your Discourse account. Once your account has been linked, you can add a Discourse column using the instructions below.

To Create Discourse Columns

  1. Click the New Tab icon Space Add New Tab Icon. Under the Sprinklr Social tab, click Engagement Dashboards within Engage.
  2. From the Engagement Home window, select the desired engagement dashboard. 
  3. In the desired Engagement Dashboard, click Add Column in the top right corner to create a new column.
  4. In the Add New Column window, search and select Discourse as a source for adding a new column.ModernEngagement_EngagementDashboards_DiscourseColumn.png
  5. In the Add New Discourse Column window, select the desired type of column you'd like me to make. The following options are available:

  6. After selecting the type of column you want to create, enter a NameDescription, and add Accounts per your needs. Provide other Basic Information for your column.   7. Enter Workflow Properties as desired. Workflow properties refer to the properties applied in Sprinklr, either automatically or manually, that determine the message's workflow status, user assignment, priority, Spam designation, and sentiment.
  8. Provide Custom Properties as desired. Configuring additional properties, you can specify messages to include or exclude based on the properties that have been applied to the message.
  9. After you've provided all the details for your column, click Create Column in the bottom right corner to create the new column. Upon creation, your column will be available in the current dashboard.ModernEngagement_EngagementDashboards_Discourse_Column.png

To Reply to a Discourse Comments

  1. Click the New Tab icon Space Add New Tab Icon. Under the Sprinklr Social tab, click Engagement Dashboards within Engage.
  2. From the Engagement Home window, select the desired engagement dashboard. 
  3. In the desired Engagement Dashboard, locate the Discourse Comment.
  4. Select the Reply icon Space_Icon_Reply details pane action.png at the bottom of the message to reply to a comment.ModernEngagement_EngagementDashboards_DiscourseColumn_Comments_Reply.png
  5. In the Response Publisher window, select the Account from which you want to reply. And, select the desired Message Type
  6. Enter your response in the text field.


    Tip 

    You can use the Rich Text Editor in the text field.

  7. Fill out the remaining steps and click Post in the bottom right corner of the Response Publisher window.

To Flag a Discourse Comments

  1. Click the New Tab icon Space Add New Tab Icon. Under the Sprinklr Social tab, click Engagement Dashboards within Engage.
  2. From the Engagement Home window, select the desired engagement dashboard. 
  3. In the desired Engagement Dashboard, locate the Discourse Fan Comment.
  4. Hover over the desired Fan Comment Options icon baseline_more_horiz_black_18dp.png and select Flag.Discourse_Flag.png
  5. In the Flag pop-up window, select the Flag Reason from the drop-down list.Discourse_FlagReason.png
  6. Click Save in the bottom right corner of the Flag pop-up window.

To Set a Trust Level Value on Profile

  1. Click the New Tab icon Space Add New Tab Icon. Under the Sprinklr Social tab, click Engagement Dashboards within Engage.
  2. From the Engagement Home window, select the desired engagement dashboard. 
  3. In the desired Engagement Dashboard, double click the desired Discourse Comment to open the third pane in the extreme right corner.
  4. Select Profile in the third pane. Next, under Custom Properties you can view, add, edit and update the Profile Trust Level numerical value from the drop-down menu.Discourse_ProfileTrustLevel.png
  5. Click Save in the bottom right corner.
