Language Customization for Facebook Assets

Updated

While creating a new creative for your Facebook campaign, you can add various details of your creatives in multiple languages by enabling Language Customization. This will allow you to use multiple languages within the same ad and target the users based on the language their app is set up to. You can advertise to people in multiple languages using a single Facebook campaign.

Before You Begin

Familiarize yourself with how to Compose Facebook and Instagram Ads.

To Set Language Customization

  2. On the Ads Composer window, select your Facebook Ad account.

  3. In the Campaign Details section, choose your campaign Objective from Select Objective for your Campaign.
Language Customization is only supported for the following objectives: BRAND AWARENESS, APP INSTALL, CONVERSIONS (Website or App), TRAFFIC (Website or App), REACH, VIDEO VIEWS, CATALOG SALES, AWARENESS (NEW OBJECTIVE), TRAFFIC (NEW OBJECTIVE) (Website or App), ENGAGEMENT (NEW OBJECTIVE) (Video Views or Website), LEADS (NEW OBJECTIVE) (Website or Instant Forms), APP PROMOTION (NEW OBJECTIVE) (App Ads) and SALES (NEW OBJECTIVE) (Website, App or Catalogue).

  4. Under Campaign Name, enter a name for your campaign or use a naming convention.

  5. Select the other details for your campaign by following the campaign creation workflow and proceed to the Creatives section.

  6. In the Creatives section, select Create new creative.

  12. Select a language of your choice from the drop-down menu.
You can enter the ad creative details (Headline, Text, etc.) for that language manually or click Translate at the top to directly translate the details of your ad from the default language to the current language. You can also change the Image/Video for each language.

    Note

You can enter a language-specific Website URL for each language. Otherwise, your website URL remains the same for each language.

    Auto Translate

    • If you edit any detail in the primary language, then the relevant changes will NOT be automatically updated for other languages. You would need to update the translation again.

    • You can use automatic translations with the following placements:

      • Facebook News Feed

      • Instagram Feed

      • Instagram Explore

      • Facebook Stories

      • Instagram Stories

      • Messenger Stories

      • Facebook In-stream Videos

If you choose any placements that don't support automatic translations, people who speak an automatically translated language won't see your ad on those placements.

  13. Similarly, add multiple languages and customize your ad. Click Save in the bottom-right corner. Your campaign will be created for the defined languages.
