How to Reduce Ad Campaign Creation Time via Cloning & Templates

Updated

Learn about cloning the existing ads, which provides you with an additional ad creation ability for the ads that you are distributing to the audiences.

This video tutorial includes the following information:

  • Clone

  • Quick clone

A majority of advertising campaigns are created by cloning workflows, modified slightly by duration or creatives, and then set live. Within Ads Composer and Ads Manager, the Use as Template feature provides this functionality at scale, while providing known Ads Composer workflows for cloning.

Note

The Use as Template feature can be used on all campaigns other than those having a Deleted or Archived status.

To Use a Campaign as a Template in Ads Composer

  3. Select an existing or draft campaign from the list to use it as a template for creating a new campaign.

  4. Select the desired state from:

  • Use Initial State: Clone the campaign as it was when originally created and ignore any changes made to this campaign after the campaign was initially published. The Initial State can only be used with the campaigns created through the Ads Composer.

  • Use Current State: Clone the campaign's current state. This is useful if you have, for example, added ad sets or creatives after the campaign was created.

    Note

The Ad Set statuses of the campaign will not be cloned.
