Verify your Google My Business Page

Updated

To update your business name and other info on Google, you must first verify your business. When you verify your business, you are required to check that your business info is accurate and that you’re the only one who can edit it.

To Verify for the First Time

  1. You are required to add or claim your Business Profile on Google. For more information, see How to add or claim your Business Profile on Google.

  2. Once you have added or claimed your profile, Google offers you one or more verification methods, like phone, text, email, and video.

      • Google will recommend you to verify by more than one method.

      • Note that the available methods vary depending on factors that can include business category, publicly available info, region, support hours, and volumes.

  3. Next, you are required to pick your verification method. For more information, see Google Standard verification methods.

  4. Note that Google needs to review your verifications. Thus, they can take up to 7 business days.

    1. Once you’re verified, you will get a notification.

    2. If Google can’t verify your business via the first-used method, then you are required to use a different verification method.

  5. After Google verifies your business, it can take a few weeks for your updated business info to show across Google.

To Re-verify after Info Changes

To maintain high-quality business info, Google may sometimes ask a verified business to verify again. A change in the info about your business that you gave us can cause this re-verification. Google might also ask you to update business info or give more details about your business. To reverify your business, go to your verified Business Profile and follow the required steps.
