Generate Thumbnails for Videos Using AI

Sprinklr is introducing AI+ Thumbnails, an AI-powered feature that automatically selects the most relevant and visually appealing frames from your videos, highlighting key moments that best represent your content. This update offers you an AI-powered alternative to traditional thumbnails, while also helping you automatically generate optimized thumbnails if you haven't used them yet, unlocking the full potential of this crucial visual tool.
Note: Access to this feature is controlled by the dynamic property: GENERATIVE_AI_ACTIONS_ENABLED boolean DP. When this DP is on, then SPRINKLR_AI_PLUS_FOR_MEDIA permission will govern the feature. To enable this feature in your environment, reach out to your Success Manager. Alternatively, you can submit a request at tickets@sprinklr.com.
Reasoning Behind AI+ Thumbnail Selection
AI+/AI-powered thumbnails are generated based on the following criteria:
1. Video Analysis and Optimization: The video undergoes an optimization process where it is analyzed and segmented into key frames that best represent the content. This ensures that the AI can assess the video thoroughly, capturing the most important visual moments without missing any critical scenes or details.
2. AI-Powered Frame Selection: Using advanced AI algorithms, each frame is evaluated based on a set of parameters that are listed below:
Visual Clarity and Sharpness: Frames with crisp, clear, and high-definition visuals are prioritized to ensure your thumbnails maintain a premium, professional appearance.
Scene Relevance: The most important and contextually significant moments in your video are identified and selected, ensuring the thumbnail truly represents the essence of the content.
Emotional Engagement: Frames capturing strong emotional expressions, dynamic reactions, or impactful interactions are preferred, as they draw greater viewer interest and engagement.
Composition and Framing: Thumbnails with well-balanced composition, thoughtful framing, and visually appealing aesthetics are selected to maximize viewer attention and attraction.
Action and Dynamics: Frames that capture movement, action, or exciting scenes are ranked higher, as they create dynamic and engaging thumbnails that stand out.
Lighting and Color Balance: Thumbnails with optimal lighting conditions and balanced, vibrant colors are chosen to enhance visual appeal and attract more viewers.
Text and Graphics Detection: Frames with clear, readable text or relevant graphics are prioritized to ensure they are informative and enhance the thumbnail’s clarity.
Uniqueness and Diversity: Frames offering fresh perspectives or variety in visual styles are selected to provide a wider range of eye-catching thumbnail options.
Brand/Context Cues: Key brand elements such as logos or recognizable background settings are automatically detected and highlighted, reinforcing brand identity and context.
3. Post-Processing and Optimization: Once the AI selects the best frames, they undergo post-processing techniques to enhance their visual quality, ensuring the final thumbnails are eye-catching and optimized for viewer engagement.
Steps to Change or Edit Video Thumbnails on Quick Publisher Using AI
1. Hover over the default thumbnail, click the Options icon, and then select either Thumbnail Using AI or Thumbnail Using DAM (Digital Asset Manager), depending on your preference.
2. Clicking on Thumbnail Using AI will redirect you to a new screen (image 1 below), where multiple AI-generated thumbnails will be displayed.
On this screen, you can also choose a thumbnail for a specific duration using the Duration selector button (image 2 below). Select the thumbnail that best represents your content.
3. Once done, review the AI-generated thumbnail on the Review Screen (image below).
4. Alternatively, you can manually select a thumbnail for your video using the Thumbnail Using DAM option (image below).
Note: *If you opt for the manual selection (using DAM), the uploaded videos will initially display a default thumbnail image. Thumbnails may take a few minutes to generate after uploading the video to the Asset Manager. You can only change the thumbnail once the video is uploaded and the default thumbnail is visible.
