Create a New Project

Updated

Overview

Projects are used to manage, track, and collaborate on a set of Tasks with a specific goal and timeline. You can create Projects for to oversee and manage individual campaigns, track product launches, manage content production and much more. You can also create Sub-projects within a Project for more efficient goal management. You can set start and end dates for your Project, add dependencies, select collaborators, assign status and priority and more according to your requirements.

Users with Owner, Admin or Creator permissions within a Portfolio can create Projects within that Portfolio.

4. You need to mandatorily fill in a Project Name, Status and Priority, and select a Default Project View. Project Owner and Code are automatically populated.

5. You can optionally add Start/End Dates, add Collaborators, add Dependencies if your Project is blocking or being bloked by other Projects, select a Parent Project (if you're creating a Sub-project for another Project), add Tags and share your Project in other Portfolios.

Note: When creating a Project, you will see Collaborators already added in the Create Project window. This is because users normally inherit access permissions for all Projects created in a Portfolio corresponding to the permissions they already have within that Portfolio.

6. When adding or editing Collaborators, you can determine their permissions levels. You can give Collaborators Admin, Editor (Cannot Share), Editor (Can Share) and Read Only permissions. Collaborators cannot be assignined permissions lower than their level of permissions within a Portfolios. For example, a Portfolio Admin must have at least Admin level permissions and cannot be given Read Only permissions.

  • Admin: Can fully configure and edit the Project but cannot update Project Ownership or delete it.

  • Editor (Cannot Share): Can edit the records and views within the Project but cannot configure Project fields or add more collaborators.

  • Editor (Can Share): Same permissions as Editor (Cannot Share) but can share and add collaborators with limited access.

  • Read Only: Can view the records within the Project but cannot edit anything or add collaborators.
