Filters and Filter Groups in Task Views

Overview

Filters and Filter Groups enable you to sort and filter Tasks based on specific criteria. When viewing large or complex Projects with multiple Tasks, you can use Filters to view only relevant Tasks and minimize confusion. You can filter Tasks based on status, priority level, custom fields, or a combination of different criteria and conditions.

Using Filters and Filter Groups

1. Navigate to the Project you want to filter Tasks for. In any Task view, click the Filter button.

2. Choose the Fields, Operator and Values you want to filter by.

3. You can filter by multiple Values. You can also use the Add Filter button to add multiple Filters, creating a Filter Group.

4. When using Filter Groups, select the AND operator if you want to filter for Tasks that qualify for all your selected Filters. Use the OR operator if you want to filter for Tasks that fulfill the criteria for either of your Filters.

4. Clicking Add Filter Group allows you to create a nested Filter Group within an existing Filter Group. In a nested Filter Group, the Filters in the first group will be evaluated first and then the resulting Tasks will be evaluted again, against the next set of Filters using the AND/OR operator.

5. Click the X icon next to the Filter/ Filter Groups to remove a particular Filter/ Filter Group.

6. Click the Options icon for options to either duplicate a Filter/ Filter Group convert a Filter into a Filter Group or ungroup an existing Filter Group into individual Filters.

6. Click Apply to apply your Filters. Click Clear to clear all Filters.

Filter by a Specific Field

1. To filter by a specific Field, you can also hover over the relevant column in Task Sheet view, click the Options icon and then select Filter by this Field from the dropdown.

2. Doing this will open the Filters pop-up with the Field cell already filled out with the selected Field. You can then simply click Apply to aply your filter or follow the steps mentioned above to create multiple Filters, Filter Groups and so on.
