Paid Rule Weather Conditions
Updated
Sprinklr Rule Engine has an integrated Aeris Weather feed in the Auto Boost and Paid rules. Using weather conditions in Auto Boost and Paid rules, actions can be triggered based on:
Minimum Temperature
Maximum Temperature
Snowfall
Minimum Humidity
Maximum Humidity
Wind Speed (KPH)
Wind Speed (MPH)
Precipitation
Note: Sprinklr syncs data from Aeris Weather feed every 6 hours. |
How Weather Rules Work
A daily weather forecast is a duration from 7 a.m. today to 6:59 a.m. on the following day, which is an industry-standard in weather forecasting. Sprinklr pulls updated forecasts every 6 hours. | |
Scenario | If the weather has been forecasted to receive 2 mm of rainfall and you set a paid weather rule with a condition that, if an area receives 1 mm of rainfall, then the ad must get activated, and if the condition is not met it should be stopped. |

Best Practices for Weather Rules
Provide a minimum of two creatives, one that is optimized for good weather and the other, optimized for bad weather.
Note: If only one creative is provided (e.g. good weather creative), the campaign may not spend out as it won’t always be active.
As weather predictions are city-specific, it is best to build out separate rules/campaigns for each city.
It is a good idea to do some reasearch on what counts as being particularly hot / cold / rainy in a given city. For example, if you wish to advertise items for a warm day in London, you may have a condition where the minimum temperature is 20 degrees celcius, while in Paris a warm day might count as minimum temperature is 25 degrees celcius.
Note that the standard environment set up contains a Custom Field called "Eligible for Auto Boosting / Paid Rules?", which can be applied to Outbound Posts so that they can be picked up by or excluded from Auto Boost Rules under various types of conditions. It has values
No
Run if Hot
Run if Cold
Run if Raining
Run if Snowing

FAQ
While setting up a target audience, if I specify Geo Market, Zip Code, Region instead of City, will my Weather Rule work as expected?
Yes, the rule will work as it doesn't check what is specified in your targeting.
