Understanding GPT API Output
A GPT API Output typically looks like the following -
To format your sources, go to "gpt_api_output" and use a JSON Formatter. This will help you view the sources from which the answer is fetched.
The GPT API output often includes references to various sources. These sources are indicated by numbers such as [1], [2], [3], etc., which correspond to the sources listed at the end of the response. This helps you identify the source from where the information was generated.
In the below image, you can see the output given by GPT. The numbers [1], [3], [5], etc., represent different sources from which the final answer is generated. This information can be viewed and validated under the source section.
Types of sources
Knowledgebase
For content from a knowledge base, only the file name is displayed. This ensures that you can easily locate the original document within the knowledge base.
Question-Answer Pairs
For question-answer pairs, the answer given and its type are displayed. This helps you understand the context and reliability of the information provided.
Documents
PDF, DOCX, TXT, HTML, ZIP, JPEG, JPG and PNG
For these document types, only the file name is displayed.
Excel (XLSX)
For Excel files, both the file name and sheet name are displayed. This allows you to locate the exact location of the information within the spreadsheet.
PowerPoint (PPTX)
For PowerPoint files, the file name and slide number are displayed, making it easy for you to find the exact slide containing the information.
