How to Configure Smart Ad Rotation Strategy Groups

Updated

While creating a Strategy Group, you can configure Smart Ad Rotation for your ads. This allows you to run the best performing Ad Variants for the longest time. You can publish multiple Ad Variants for the same product promotion where you can see the best performing Ads in real-time and have more running time allotted to them automatically.

You can manage your Ad Rotation approach within Strategy Groups. With this approach, Sprinklr maintains the desired number of active Ads per audience while automatically pausing down underperforming Ads and activating new ones in their place.

To Configure Strategy Group Smart Ad Rotation

In the New Strategy Group pane to the right, provide the Basic Details for your Strategy Group. For more information, see Strategy Group .

Check the box alongside Smart Ad Rotation and click the Smart Ad Rotation option from the left pane to configure it manually.

On the Smart Ad Rotation window, select how you want to rotate your ads from the following:

4. To exclude an Ad from the rotation, you have to manually exclude the necessary entity from the Ads Manager by clicking on "Remove Optimisation for Ad Variant". The screen would look like as shown in the screenshot below:

Note: Pausing of Ads in an Ad Set and then applying SAR won't ensure exclusion of Ads from the Optimisation. For example, I have 10 Ad Variants, containing 5 paused and 5 active ads. Unless I manually exclude the 5 paused ones, all 10 of them will be eligible for Ad Rotation.

Number of ads to be tested at a time

Enter the number of ads you want to be tested at a time. Out of the total number of pushed ads, this is the number of ads that are active and being tested against your audience segment.

For example, if you build and deploy 100 ads, you may only want to test 5% of ads or 5. which would be the number to place in this box. The remaining 95 ads in this example are placed into a queue to be tested.

Number of winning ads

Enter the number of winning ads to be derived after the Ads have been tested. This is the number of ads that will be left running after all ads had a chance to be active.

For testing rotation purposes, it is recommended that this number only be a fraction of the number you place in the above field. Using the above example of 5 ads being tested at a time, we would recommend 2-3 as the number of winning ads.
