About Day & Hour Bid Multipliers
Updated
While configuring Strategy Group Smart Bidding, you have the ability to configure Day and Hour Bid Multiplier. Configuring Smart Bidding Day and Hour Bid Multiplier will help you increase or decrease the bid values for a specific duration across the week.
It will also help multiply your manual bids low/high for a specific day/hour based on business insights. You can configure more than one Bid Multiplier at a time.
Use Cases of Day and Hour Bid Multiplier
CUSTOMER | PROBLEM | SOLUTION |
Media Practitioner | Unable to modify Bids as per your business requirements. | Day and Hour Bid Multiplier allows you to bid based on your business requirements at a certain hour of a particular day. Based on your business requirements, you may wish to bid more aggressively when your audiences are more receptive to your ad and vice-versa. For example, let us say your brand deals with food items. You may want to bid low if your past data indicates that every week on Mondays from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm, your Ad doesn't perform so well — but you still might want to increase the bids since the data indicates that every week on Sundays, the 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm window performs well in general. |
To Configure Day and Hour Bid Multiplier
Under the Day and Hour Multiplier section of Strategy Groups Smart Bidding, you can increase/decrease the Bid values for any specific duration across the week by selecting Add a Day & Hour Multiplier.
On the Configure Day & Hour Bid Multiplier pop-up window, you can multiply your manual bids low/high for specific Day/Hour based on business insights by entering Bid Multiplier Value, Day of the week, and Time of the day.
Example - An Ad Set has a Manual Bid set at $10. Bid Multiplier value of 80% will lead to the bid being reduced to $8 for that time period. Bid Multiplier value of 200% will lead to the bid being increased to $20 (from $10) for that time period.
Note:
The Day and Hour Bid Multiplier is independent of Facebook Bid Multiplier. This Bid Multiplier will only be applied to Ad Sets that are on Manual Bidding.
If an Ad Set is on Auto Bidding, the system will not force it to manual bid.
The Bid Multiplier will be applied to the Bid Value set at the specific time and will be removed from the Bid Value when it enters a non-applicable time frame.
Example: Let us say, you have applied your Bid Multiplier on 16th October. If the Bid Value on 15th October at 11:59 PM is 5, then, on 16th October at 00:01 AM, the Bid Value will become 5 times the Bid Multiplier. Again, on 17th October at 00:01 AM, the bid value will be set back to 5.
