WeChat - Introduction

Updated

Why is WeChat important?

WeChat is one of the world's most popular social media messaging apps and is similar to WhatsApp.

WeChat supports video, voice, and text chat and has unique features like localized translation.

Adding a WeChat account in Sprinklr allows your team to engage, publish, report, and monitor your brand's WeChat account from the Sprinklr platform.

Note:

  • There are three types of WeChat accounts: Service Accounts, Subscription Accounts, and Enterprise Accounts.

  • Sprinklr supports all three types of accounts: Certified Subscription Account, Certified Service Account, and Certified Enterprise Account.

  • Before you begin, ensure that you have credentials to a supported WeChat account.

Steps to add a WeChat account in Sprinklr

Generate an AppID AND AppSecret Key

1. On the WeChat Public Platform website, log in with your WeChat credentials.

2. On the left side of your account screen, select Basic Configuration. If you are not the WeChat account administrator, you will need to scan the QR code that appears in the WeChat app. Once you have scanned it, the WeChat account administrator should verify your login so that you have access to WeChat home page.

3. Make a note of the AppSecret key. You need to copy the AppSecret key in the Sprinklr platform for adding the WeChat account.

Note:

  • The AppSecret appears only the first time the WeChat administrator logs in to the WeChat account. The administrator should make a note of the AppSecret key to pass it among other users henceforth.

  • For security reasons, the AppSecret key will not be visible the next time an administrator logs in to the same account. If the AppSecret key is forgotten then the administrator must reset it.

  • If you are not the WeChat account administrator then you have to request the AppSecret from the account administrator.

4. While making a note of the AppID, ensure that you hover over the AppID and copy the text that appears in the Original text within the tool-tip. If you are not the WeChat account administrator then you have to request the App Secret from the account administrator.
