Dow Jones data will be available as News/Print data in Listening and Media Insights Dashboards.
A Dow Jones mention will be counted just like any other news/print mention.
Once enabled Dow Jones text data can be plotted as Postcard or Stream Widgets within both Listening and Media Insights Dashboards.
Dow Jones data will be branded with a Dow Jones logo to differentiate it from the data available through existing sources.
Dow Jones data is utilized in the Media Insights story clustering algorithm, hence, Dow Jones data is available within Story Cards **as well.
Dow Jones data can be distributed via newsletters. As Dow Jones is a premium source and includes licensing rights, this capability is available to our clients at an additional cost.
Dow Jones data is not available within Listening Explorer, Topic/Theme Preview data, and any APIs.
Dow Jones data can be classified under two broad categories as mentioned below.
Analytical data: All numerical data points (around the metric – Mentions).
Textual data: Dimensions such as Media Title and Conversation Stream come under textual data.
Depending on the category and the user, i.e., Premium Data vs Basic SP&E user, the data would be rendered. Please note "Basic SP&E user will be referred to as a Basic user.
Analytical data
When Dow Jones data is plotted in a dashboard, all the analytical data will be the same for a Basic and a Premium user.
Consider a counter widget that is set up with a topic that matches 20 news mentions from current sources and 12 mentions from Dow Jones. The counter widget shows 32 mentions for both Basic and Premium users. Hence, there will be no difference in the overall numbers shown on a dashboard for a Basic or Premium user. Other points to note are:
Analytical data is available in exports (excel, pdf, etc.).
Dow Jones Historical data is available from January 2020.
There is no change in analytical data for historical data.
Textual data for premium users
Media Title
The full title of the news/print article is available for a rolling period of 400 days.
After the rolling period of 400 days, the title is masked.
The rolling period is counted from the date when the article is made available on the Sprinklr platform.
The same behavior would be seen when Media Title is plotted in table widgets, stream widget, drill-downs and third pane.
Conversation Stream
Full-text content of the news/print article is available for a rolling period of 30 days.
Post the rolling period of 30 days, only snippets are available. The snippet refers to the first 256 characters of the text content.
After a rolling period of 400 days, the title and the text contents are masked.
The rolling period is counted from the date when the article is made available on the Sprinklr platform. An example for the rolling period – if a news article is ingested on 22 August – the full text will be shown on the platform till 21 September.
The same behavior would be seen when the conversation stream is plotted in table widgets, postcard widgets, stream widgets, drill-downs, and third pane.
Story Cards (For stories with only Dow Jones mentions)
If the story card consists of only Dow Jones mentions, the title, and summary of the story card will follow similar restrictions as discussed in Conversation Stream.
The summary in the story card will be based on the first 256 characters of the text content.
Textual data for standard users
Media Title
Media Title is masked, the same behavior would be seen when Media Title is plotted in table widgets, stream widget, drill-downs and third pane.
Conversation Stream
The title and the text contents are masked, the same behavior would be seen when Conversation Stream is plotted in table widgets, postcard widgets, stream widgets, drill-downs, and third pane.
Story Cards (For stories with only Dow Jones mentions)
If the story card consists of only Dow Jones mentions, the title, and summary of the story card will follow similar restrictions as discussed in Conversation Stream.
The summary in the story card will be based on the first 256 characters of the text content.
Stories are created with Dow Jones data - going forward. Historical stories will not be enriched with Dow Jones data.
Permalinks
No permalinks are available for Dow Jones data for both the online and Print versions (as the data is directly obtained from the publication).
External Share
As Dow Jones data is restricted only to Premium Data Users, the textual data will be completely masked in external shares. There will be no change to analytical data.
PDF Exports
PDF Exports would contain data as seen in the Dashboards and it will be masked for a Basic User.
These exports must be used only for monthly/quarterly reporting purposes and should not be transferred into any APIs.
Excel Exports
As Dow Jones data is restricted only to Premium Data Users, the textual data will be completely masked in Excel exports.
There will be no change to analytical data.
Custom AI Models
Only sentiment and news categorization AI models are run on Dow Jones data.
No other additional AI or text analytics models is allowed.
