Copy and Paste in Task Sheet View
Updated
Overview
You can use the copy and paste feature to duplicate text and other values from cells in a Task Sheet. You can duplicate the contents of individual cells, multiple cells or entire rows.
Using Copy and Paste
1. In Task Sheet view, select the cells you want to copy, right click and then select Copy.
2. Select the cell you want to paste your content in, right click and then select Paste. A new Task will be created with the fields that you copy pasted filled out accordingly.
3. Even if you have copied multiple cells, you only need to select one cell to paste in. The cells will be pasted in the original order in which they were copied.
4. The field type of the cells much match for copy and paste to work. For example, you cannot copy the values from a number type field and paste them in a text type field.
5. In the case of picklist type fields, you can only copy and paste in cells contained within that field itself. For example, if you're copying values from a single select picklist field like Priority, you can't paste it under another picklist field like Status.
6. You can also copy and paste cells from multiple fields at once. Select the cells within the fields you want to copy, right click and select Copy.
7. Right click the cell where you want to paste and select Paste. All of the copied fields will be pasted and new Tasks will be created accordingly.
8. You can also copy and paste values within an existing Task. In this case, only the values will be duplicated, no new Task will be created.
9. To copy and paste a row of cells, click the serial number of the row and right click. From the drop down select Copy. Right click the cell where you want to paste and select Paste. All of the copied fields will be pasted and new Tasks will be created accordingly.
