Text-to-Speech Overview

By utilizing text-to-speech technology, brands can broaden the accessibility of their text messages and card assets in live chat interactions, making them more inclusive for a diverse audience. This approach allows businesses to deliver a seamless and engaging user experience that meets the needs of all customers, regardless of their reading abilities.

Enablement note:

To learn more about getting this capability enabled, please work with your Success Manager.

Before You Begin

  1. Get the TTS (Text-to-Speech) and STT (Speech-to-Text) models added to your environment by collaborating with the ML team. Contact your Success Manager to facilitate this process.

  2. Additionally, configure the speech profile as part of the setup. For more information, see Add Speech Profiles.

Enablement

Under Advanced Settings of the live chat builder, slide the toggle for Enable Text to Speech in Conversations and select the desired Speech Profile.

Card Assets - Customizing Modulation and Pauses

When creating a Card asset, you have the option to enable Add Custom Text-To-Speech Content to provide custom content or make adjustments to speed, modulation, etc

You can customize the speech experience with modulation features such as volume, speech rate, and pitch, and manage pauses with control over strength or duration. Additionally, you can add recordings and review the speech using various speech profiles.

Text to Speech

Every brand message and card assets will be accompanied by a text-to-speech icon that customers can click to have the system read out messages sent to them in the chat.
