Ads Web Analaytics FAQs

Can I use Channel Post/Story ID in my Sprinklr Web Analytics Profile?

Since Web Analytics is applied before the ad is sent to the channel, Sprinklr does not know the Post / Story ID at that time. Only after publishing, the Post / Story ID is generated. Sprinklr is not able to update the Web URL string to include the Post / Story ID after publishing as any changes made to the ad will create a new post and new Post / Story ID.
If you want to use the Post ID, you can use Facebook URL Parameters. Please note that this is only for Facebook.

Note

If you are using any Channel IDs within the Web Analytics String, all ads will be republished in order to incorporate the respective Channel IDs.  However, this is not recommended if you are publishing hundreds of ads simultaneously as it will increase the likelihood of rate limit errors.

To learn more about using Channel IDs as parameters in Web Analytics, please work with your Success Manager.

Can I apply Web Analytics to an existing Ad Creative and publish my Campaign from the Ads Composer?

No. You cannot apply a Web Analytics profile to an existing creative and publish your ad campaign as you would be using the same post that was published earlier, and applying a web analytics profile will change the Story / Post ID.

Can Web Analytics work in conjunction with shortened links?

Yes. Web Analytics can run with shortened links. Web Analytics is first applied and then condensed to a short URL.

Why can’t I append Paid Web Analytics on my Organic Posts?

Paid Web Analytics cannot be applied to organic posts as changing any aspect of the organic post will create an entirely new post, resetting engagements, etc. If you want to append web analytics, you can create a dark post from an organic post by selecting Use As Template for that post in the Creatives section of Ads Composer.

Can I use Web Analytics with Sprinklr DoubleClick Integration?

Yes, Web Analytics can be appended in two different ways when using Sprinklr DoubleClick Integration. Web Analytics can be appended in the Web URL before the Click Tag is generated or the Web Analytics string can be added to the end of the Click Tag. For more information, see Use Google Campaign Manager and Web Analytics Simultaneously.

If I have a link in my Text field and a Web URL, how will Web Analytics be applied?

Both will have Web Analytics applied to the links. If you are using an URL shortener, the shortener will apply to both links as well.

Can l apply Paid Web Analytics to bulk imported Ads?

You can apply Paid Web Analytics to the ads imported in bulk if you do not use the Story ID while uploading them.

Can I apply Paid Web Analytics to Auto Boosted/Boosted Posts?

No, Paid Web Analytics will not be applied because you are using the same post that was published earlier, and applying a Web Analytics profile will change the Story / Post ID.

What if I have an & (ampersand) in one of my Custom Field values? Ex: R&D.

Unfortunately, Sprinklr does not have the ability to process this correctly. Sprinklr will recognize the & as the end of the parameter. For any Custom Fields with an & in it, we recommend changing these to remove the & (ampersand).

Does Sprinklr handle spaces within Custom Field values? For example, if I have a custom field with a possible value of “Community Growth”, what will this look like within the web analytics string once configured?

Sprinklr handles the output results at the backend. So, if you have a custom field "Community Growth", a %20 will be inserted as a separator for space within the Web Analytics profile making it Community%20Growth.

Can I apply Web Analytics for Canvas?

No, you cannot apply Web Analytics for Canvas.

In the URL Parameters field, if a URL already has parameters for tracking, will newly defined parameters automatically append with an ampersand (&) or will it start the parameter construction with a question mark (?)? For Example: The URL on a running Ad is defined as www.website.com?cid=123. I want to append to this URL a new parameter Ad-id = [Ad_Variant_Id]. If I put it as it is in the URL Parameters field, will that work? Is there a way to preview the final URL before saving the changes?

If a URL already has parameters for tracking, it will automatically append the additional parameters to the URL using an Ampersand (&). Currently, there is no way to preview the final URL that will appear after appending the additional parameters.

It is recommended to check the format of adding the URL parameters for the URL to work properly.
