FAQs
Can I use Custom Metrics in Cost and Rate Benchmarks?
Yes, you can use custom metrics in Cost and Rate Benchmarks. You will need to ensure that the custom metric name contains 'Cost per' or 'Rate' as a unique keyword to use it as a Cost and Rate Benchmark, respectively. Additionally, you can also select 3rd party integration metrics as cost and rate benchmarks.
Can I sort Benchmark Deviation metrics in Ads Manager?
No. You cannot sort the Benchmark Deviation metrics in Ads Manager.
What is the duration for the Benchmark metric you set? Eg: Cost per Click - 10 for Q1; Is it for each day or for the whole duration?
It is an average number. You can pick any sub-duration within Q1 in the above example and you will see 10.
Can Custom Metrics be created using Benchmark metrics in Ads Reporting?
Yes, custom metrics can be created using Benchmark metrics.
Can I tag the same benchmark across campaigns of different channels or ad accounts with different currencies?
Yes, you can tag and it will not impact in any way. Benchmark is a constant; it doesn’t have any currency associated with it. However, the other metrics will be shown as per the currency selected at the dashboard level.
If I use the Rule Engine to apply conditions using Benchmark for campaigns/ads, will the rule be automatically performed only for campaigns/ads tagged with the benchmark?
Yes, the rule is applied only to the tagged campaigns. For example, in the rule shown in the screenshot below, only for campaigns tagged with this benchmark, the budget will be increased based on the condition.
Limitations:
You can change benchmark values for dates in the past but, you cannot change dates for benchmarks after 7 days in the past. For example, if the current date is June 28th, you cannot change it to a date before June 21st.
Tagging is not supported after 30 days from the day the campaign is created or auto-imported.
Only one Benchmark can be used on a Paid Initiative or Ad Variant at a time, though different Benchmarks can be applied to the Paid Initiative and the Ad Variants contained within that Paid Initiative.
Unique metrics and third-party metrics are not supported.
