Use Macros to Set, Remove, or Merge Custom Fields

Using macros, you can add, remove, merge, or Custom Fields on various entities. Using these macro actions, you can automate manual actions to change Custom Fields on messages, assets, and other entities with single-click actions, saving time and reducing clicks.

Before You Begin

Ensure that you've created the Custom Fields you'd like this macro to apply to. Keep in mind that if you would like to create a macro that merges Custom Fields (i.e., applies new Custom Fields in addition to already applied Custom Fields), this macro action can only be used for Custom Fields that allow more than one entry: Picklist and Multi-Select.

Custom Field Macro Actions

  1. Click the New Tab icon. Under the Platform Modules tab, click Macro.

  2. Click Create Macro.

  3. In the Set Actions section of the Create Macro window, select from the following Custom Field actions:

    Action
    Description

    Set

    Override any previous selections for the specified Custom Field

    Merge

    Apply values in addition to other values for the specified Custom Field

    Remove

    Remove the values for the specified Custom Field

  4. Complete configuration for your macro and click Add.
