Video Publishing: You have the ability to directly publish a video to an Instagram business account. Publishing video posts to your Instagram business account will help you extend your brand’s reach.
Hashtag Search: The Hashtag Search for Instagram allows you to find public photos and videos that have been tagged with a hashtag relevant to you. It will have additional limitations due to Instagram API changes. These limitations include no support for hashtags in Stories and you can search a maximum of 30 unique hashtags within a period of 7 days. As a result, you have a new hashtag management screen in Topics to manage these limitations. Also note that Instagram Hashtag search is supported only for Instagram Business users.
Instagram Business Accounts: When publishing photo posts to Instagram Business Accounts from Sprinklr, you have the ability to tag a location. Adding location to your Instagram photo posts will help you show up in more searches and extend your reach.
December 2018
Instagram Columns: Sprinklr no longer supports the following Instagram column types within an Engagement Dashboard:
Tags Search
Media Search
Tags Persistent Search
Media Persistent Search
To search the information fetched in the above-mentioned column, use Social Listening. Existing data in the Tags Persistent Search and Media Persistent Search columns are retained in Sprinklr and you can view the historical data in the respective column within the Engagement Dashboard. However, the Tag Search and Media Search columns and the data fetched in those columns will be deleted from Sprinklr on Dec 15th, 2018.
Instagram User Generated Content: Within User Generated Content (also known as UGC), Instagram content only appears in a Listening Insights search and not in the Public Search.
September 2018
Brand Mentions in Fan Posts: Sprinklr has the capability to fetch Instagram posts on which a fan has @mentioned the brand's handle. For example, if a fan @AnneDroid tags @Sprinklr in a post, you can fetch the post Anne Tagged the brand in and pull it into a new Tagged Media Instagram Engagement Dashboard column. Due to an API limitation, you cannot directly comment/reply on the posts through Sprinklr. However, by clicking on the time stamp, you can open the post natively and engage on the post that way.
August 2018
Instagram Data Fetching: The rate limits for Instagram legacy accounts has been reduced which means the latency with which we fetch the data and keep things in sync with the channel for Instagram legacy accounts has increased.
May 2018
Instagram Hashtag Enagagement: Engagement on Instagram posts fetched through Tags search is no longer supported. Previously, brands could monitor and engage on the fan posts fetched in Sprinklr through #hashtags search. Instagram has deprecated the API support for engaging on such posts and brands can only monitor, but cannot like/comment on #hashtag posts.
Instagram Profile Information: Instagram has deprecated the profile information, meaning you can only view the profile handle of the fans who engage on the brand posts and no other profile information like follower count, profile bio and number of post is supported.
April 2018
Instagram API Support for Legacy Accounts: There is limited API support for Instagram legacy accounts which means that any bugs or support requests for Instagram legacy accounts are no longer addressed or have a very high latency from the channel. Instagram is pushing all the accounts to move towards business accounts. Hence, it has become mandatory to have a Facebook page for every Instagram account so that you can link the same in converting it to business. All the new features such as engaging on fan @mention posts, etc. are supported only for Instagram business accounts.
