In this article, we will cover the steps to edit values for exisitng custom fields.

Impact of Editing custom field values

You can edit and update existing values in a custom field without breaking its connection with previous tags, filtering, etc. The updated values are reflected within the third panes of the following:

  • Inbound Message

  • Outbound Message

  • Profile

  • Task

  • Case

  • Ad Campaign

  • Ad Set

  • Ad Variant

  • Asset

Apart from this, you can also:

  • Update the value dynamically across the platform on current, future, and historic data.

  • View the updated values in the filter facet for Production Dashboards, Reporting, Listening, Benchmarking, and Editorial Calendar.

  • View the updated values in group-by in Editorial Calendar, Production, and Reporting Dashboards.

  • View the updated values in Engagement Columns for Case, Task, Inbound, and Outbound Message.

  • View updated values in Workflow Engine where the original value was first set.

  • Apply updated value via macros which were built with the original value.

  • View updated values in the Publisher and Third Pane.

  • View updated values in the Campaign and Sub-campaign details pane.

Steps to Edit Custom Field Values

  1. Click the New Tab icon Space Add New Tab Icon. Under Governance Console, click Custom Fields within Platform Setup.

  2. On the Custom Fields window, hover over the Options icon  alongside the desired custom field and select Edit.

  3. On the Update Custom Field window, scroll down to the Set Values section and delete/change the existing values as desired. 

  4. On editing custom field values, you will receive the Edit Value confirmation pop-up, click Yes, Save and start entering new values as per your requirement.

  5. Click Save in the bottom right corner.
