Metric-based filter

Updated

We have introduced 7 new metric-based dimensions that you can use as a filter at the dashboard-level, widget-level, and section-level. The below dimensions will help you filter the user engagement data as per the defined values –

Dimension

Use as filter

User Follower

This will filter the user engagement data as per the value you define for user follower.

Experience Score

This will filter the user engagement data as per the value you define for experience score.

Likes Count

This will filter the user engagement data as per the value you define for likes count.

Twitter Retweets

This will filter the user engagement data as per the value you define for Twitter retweets.

Earned Engagement

This will filter the user engagement data as per the value you define for earned engagement.

Twitter Favorites

This will filter the user engagement data as per the value you define for Twitter favorites.

Comments Count

This will filter the user engagement data as per the value you define for comments count.

For example, you plot an Earned Engagements metric on a widget along with other metrics/dimensions. The earned engagement data shows up in the widget. Now you want to filter the widget by Earned Engagement > 500 at the widget-level. What you can do here is you can select the Earned Engagement (Dimension) in the Add Filter section at the widget-level, Greater than as condition, and 500 as a value.

Note:

  • The above-mentioned 7 dimensions are only available for filtering purpose at the dashboard, widget, and section-level. They are not available on the widget builder as dimensions.

  • The user engagement data filtered by any of these 7 metric-based dimensions vary from the data filtered by their namesake metrics. See the logic behind data disparity section for detailed information.

Logic behind data disparity

When using this filter at the dashboard-level, the metric-level values associated with the dimension in your widgets will get changed. Let's understand it with an example. Let's say you have plotted a Table widget with Country as a dimension and Earned Engagement as a metric.

Now if you use Earned Engagement (Dimension) as a filter at any level (dashboard, widget, section), the values of earned engagement associated with individual countries will get changed which means if India had an Earned Engagement of 3000 and if you used Earned Engagement (Dimension) greater than 200 at the dashboard-level, then post-filtration the Earned Engagement of India might be less than 3000. This is because there will be countless messages in India and this dimension will filter out those messages in India which had earned engagement less than 200 and only those messages will be coming in which have an earned engagement greater than 200.
