Expired URL Shortner

Updated

Introduction

There has been a recurring issue with publishing failures due to hitting the monthly API usage limit for Bitly URL shorteners. Multiple cases have been reported where posts, comments, and replies failed because Bitly’s rate limits were exceeded. While the immediate solution has been to advise users to switch to Sprinklr's internal URL shortener or remove Bitly as the default, a long-term solution is needed to effectively monitor and manage rate limits to prevent further publishing failures.

If the pre-selected (default) URL shortener has expired, a warning icon will appear under the URL shortener with the message: ⚠️ The rate limit for the selected URL shortener has been exhausted. To avoid publishing failure, it's recommended to use a different URL shortener.

Configuration

URL shortener can be selected in two ways:

  • Configure through Rule Engine.

  • Select Manually.

So, when you select a URL shortener that has expired in Quick Publish, you will get the default warning message. The shortener will renew on the first of every month.

Note: It's recommended to use a Sprinklr URL Shortener with no rate limit.
