Manage Permissions for Media Uploader

Updated

While adding a photo/video to a post you want to publish you get a variety of options. Using these, you get a control over who all can upload media from different sources including DAM, URL, Dynamic Image, etc.

Use cases:

  • As an admin, I don’t want the distributed users to be overwhelmed by the choices that they have while adding an image or video.

  • As an admin, I want to control the tabs available for the distributed user.

Benefits:

  • Cleaner UI for an end user by minimizing the number of options.

  • This gives the admin an extended governance on the available number of tabs for an end user.

How to set up this capability?

Setup via the Enterprise platform

There are two level of checks in place for an end user:

  • Permissions

  • Distributed Control Panel

To add / remove the permissions from the user:

The following permissions will enable the respective tabs in the Media Uploader window:

  • Desktop Upload —Upload tab

  • Sprinklr DAM — Add from DAM tab and Favorites tab

  • External DAM — All the external tabs

  • Add From URL — Add from URL tab

  • Dynamic Image — Dynamic Image tab

The permissions can be added or removed from the end user via new/existing assigned role.

To Add / Remove the Media Uploader Window tabs from the Distributed Control Panel:

  1. Edit the required Distributed Control Panel

  2. Go to App Properties and go to the Publisher section.

  3. Under the Tabs Removed From Media Selector dropdown, add the tabs which you want to remove from the Media Uploader window.
