June 2024

Policies for going live on Facebook have been changed to align with the industry standards. To continue using Facebook Live seamlessly after 10 June 2024, your account must meet the following requirements.

  • Your account must be at least 60 days old.

  • Your Page or professional profile must have at least 100 followers.

  • To go live from a Page, you need to have Facebook access or task access to create content.

October 2023

  • Deprecating Organic Facebook Carousel Posts - Meta have deprecated APIs to publish organic Facebook carousel posts. Thus, Sprinklr has removed the option to publish Carousel post type from all publisher screens.

December 2020

  • Messenger API Updates for Europe - As part of Facebook's efforts to comply with new privacy rules in Europe, they’re making updates that will impact some developers and businesses that use their Messenger API.

Beginning December 16th, several Messenger API features will no longer be available for the following audiences:

  • European pages in all chats

  • Pages with European admins in all chats

  • Any chats with people in Europe

November 2020

  • Guest Mode - Facebook Guest Mode allows your customers to start chatting with your brand via the Chat Plugin on your brand website in the Guest Mode without logging into their Facebook account. The Chat Plugin allows you to integrate your Messenger experience directly into your website.
    These “guest users” are temporary accounts that can send/receive messages when they are on your website. “Guest chats” will end when the user decides to end the chat from the More menu, or 24 hours from the start of the conversation, whichever comes first.

    Henceforth, the conversations that happened in the Guest Mode will be grabbed in Sprinklr, and the agents will be able to engage with the guest users. In Sprinklr, the profile name of the guest user will appear as “Guest XXXX”. If the conversation is ended by the user, the agent will no longer be able to send any message from Agent Console.

October 2020

  • Facebook Offer Post - Sprinklr does not support the publishing and reporting of Facebook offer posts due to an API limitation. Facebook has discontinued the support on Facebook offer posts API and would not be providing any support on any future issues or on improving the API as they plan to discontinue it. They have advised us not to build any capability around this API for the same reason. 

October 2019

  • Facebook Messenger Templates - On July 29, 2019, Facebook deprecated the following 3 features for Messenger V4.0 and removed it for all versions on October 29, 2019. Henceforth, you will not be able to create these chat templates in Sprinklr Digital Asset Manager:

    • The Ask for Location button in Quick Reply Templates that allowed the brands to request a customer's location.

    • The List Template which was a list of 3-4 structured items with an optional global button rendered at the bottom.

    • The Share button for Messenger in the templates that are Product/Multiple Products/List Templates.

July 2019

  • Facebook Albums - Facebook has deprecated several API endpoints for Albums. As a result, you will no longer be able to unlike an album and fetch data for albums within a Shares column in the Engagement Dashboard.

  • Facebook Photos - Facebook has deprecated several API endpoints for Photos. As a result, you will no longer be able to unlike a photo and fetch data for photos within a Shares column in the Engagement Dashboard.

  • Facebook Users - Facebook has deprecated several API endpoints for Users. As a result, you will no longer be able to publish albums from Facebook Profiles.

  • Facebook Videos - Facebook has deprecated several API endpoints for Videos. As a result, you will no longer be able to unlike a video.

January 2019

  • Facebook Reporting Metrics - To help you better understand the performance of your pages and posts on Facebook, Sprinklr has added following new metrics that make data comparison within Reporting Insights more relevant.

  • Facebook Partner Categories - Facebook has deprecated Partner Categories as a targeting option following their recent privacy restrictions. As a result, this option has been deprecated from Sprinklr for Facebook ads. While targeting an audience for your Facebook campaign, you will no longer have the ability to select partner categories. This applies to Ads Composer, Ads Manager, Quick Ad Publish, and Audience Manager. However, your active campaigns will continue to run as usual.

  • Facebook Event Responses Objective - Sprinklr has deprecated Event Responses ad objective from Facebook Ads due to Facebook API permission limitations. While composing Facebook Ads in the Ads Composer, you will not have an Event Responses option to select your ad objective from. This objective has been deprecated from Ads Manager and Import Ads as well.

  • Facebook Page Recommendations - Sprinklr allows you to monitor and engage with the recommendations that you receive on your Facebook business page account from the users.

September 2018

  • Facebook Pages - You can now tag Facebook Pages while publishing posts from Sprinklr which allows brands to cross-promote with other brands and drive higher engagement.

August 2018

  • Facebook Groups - Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is no longer supported for Facebook Groups meaning brands can no longer know the details of the fan-like name, profile picture, etc. when engaging with the same on Facebook Group posts.

  • Facebook Page Ratings- Facebook has recently introduced Facebook Page Recommendations and has deprecated Facebook Page Ratings natively. This means that Facebook Page Ratings will no longer be pulled into the Sprinklr platform. Recommendations will be available within the platform in the near future.

  • Facebook Groups - Facebook has recently implemented a number of changes in effort to better protect user information. Starting on August 1st, they require an approval process for apps connecting to Facebook Groups. As a result of this change, all Facebook Groups connected to Sprinklr will need to be reauthorized.
    To continue managing your Facebook Groups through Sprinklr, you'll need to first add Sprinklr as an approved app from Facebook natively and then add or re-add the Group in Sprinklr.

July 2018

  • Facebook Profiles - Publishing from a Facebook Profile from the Sprinklr platform will be deprecated effective August 1, 2018.

  • Organic Targeting - For Facebook Pages, Targeting options Gender and Language will no longer be available when publishing. Age targeting for Facebook no longer accepts a Maximum Age criterion and will only accept one of the following 5 options for Minimum Age: 13, 17, 18, 19, and 21 years old. Location, Relationship, Interested In, Relation, and Education will still be supported for Facebook post Targeting.

May 2018

  • Facebook Profile/Page - Facebook has restricted external mentions and comments for any profile. 

    • All external mentions will be grabbed regardless of them being published by a Page or Profile.

    • The PII information is not available in case of profile post, hence the profile information is not seen in Sprinklr.

    • The PII information is available in case of page post(a fan page mentions a brand in their post) and hence the profile information is seen in such a case.

    • Comments on external mentions published by profile are not available in the API and hence not grabbed in Sprinklr.

    • Comments on external mentions published by page are available in the API and are grabbed in Sprinklr.

  • Facebook Events - Facebook Events API has been deprecated meaning brands can no longer publish or engage on Facebook events through Sprinklr.
