Twitter Channel Updates

Updated

Keep up with the latest Twitter Channel updates here.

September 2023

  • Change - For Twitter Cards, all media/URL are part of cards and we get that info using a particular endpoint, which is not supported in new API.

Impact in Ads - Without card ID, we will not be able to fetch linked media/URL related to tweet, hence the preview for Twitter Cards will not appear

  • Updates in mentioning profiles while creating an X post (Tweet) - The user/search endpoint powers the ability to search all public X handles and display them as results when a brand wishes to @mention a user in Quick Publisher or reply window while publishing an X post. This endpoint will be deprecated, and there is no confirmed timeline for getting a replacement for the same. Thus user will not be able to see the twitter handles while @mentioning in X (Previously Twitter)

January 2019

  • Deleted Tweets Indicator in the Engagement Dashboard - In accordance with the Twitter API guidelines, when a tweet is deleted from Twitter directly in the native channel or through Sprinklr, that particular tweet will be permanently removed from Sprinklr. You will now see a visual indicator without any profile and text information. The visual indicator will only appear if the deleted tweet is associated with a case. This will help users understand where a message has gone once it has been deleted, instead of leaving you to search and question its whereabouts.

  • Custom Audience - Sprinklr has deprecated the option Upload Data Manually for Twitter Custom Audience with the migration of Ads API from version 3 to version 4. You will now no longer be able to manually enter the audience details to create your custom audience for Twitter.

February 2018

  • Group Publishing - In a continued effort to protect its users from the spread of spam by fake accounts on Twitter, the social channel recently announced that they have revisited their guidelines surrounding automation. The Sprinklr platform will no longer support account group publishing to Twitter.
