Export Safeguards

Updated

Delivering a secure service for our users and providing the world’s most loved enterprise software is our top priority. We’ve made a few updates to Sprinklr’s reporting, user and profile export functionality to enhance the security and data privacy of our customers’ information.

Exporting reports from the Sprinklr platform provides you with a link that is public by design to permit the download of the zip file. The URLs generated through the export feature to enable the download of the files are consistent with industry standards and include protections to prevent the URL from being easily guessable. For example, a URL generated at export could be:

http://prod.cdata.app.sprinklr.com/EXPORT/2018/03/05/06-01/1647/e8h64737-b19c-37d46967g0c96-1310489378/filename4.zip (this is an example, not a real link).

However, because these URLs are public by design, we believe it’s important that Sprinklr users understand the sensitive nature of these links and take precautions with how they use and share these links containing exported company data.

In an effort to better support our customer's use of Export Modules, we’ve added several proactive safeguards intended to enhance the security and privacy of your information.

  • Expiration of Existing URLs - Over the next few weeks, Sprinklr will expire all the downloaded URLs that have been generated by users to date through Sprinklr’s Export Modules. Because these URLs are public by design, we are taking this proactive step to ensure the security of the files available through these URLs.

    • If you have internal processes or workflows that rely on public URLs generated through Sprinklr’s Export Modules, please note that you will see an error message if you try to use these URLs. If you need continued access to those URLs, you can:

      • Go into the Export Module and re-export the dashboard. This new export will generate a password-protected URL (more on that below) which you can then share with your team.

      • Reach out via Support if you need assistance generating a private link for your internal use.

  • Password Protection for URLs Generated Via Export Modules - Going forward, when users leverage Sprinklr’s Export for all modules the URLs generated via email to enable download will be password protected. Anyone who wishes to view content from that URL will be required to input the password that is provided via email upon export.

    • Users will still be able to access the reports within the Sprinklr application without a password. Access to reports in the platform requires that users be logged into their Sprinklr account.

As a best practice, please always ensure that the way you store and share the links, that your teams have generated in the past, complies with your internal policies regarding access to the content contained in the files made accessible to that link, which may include personal information.
