Web Browser Requirement for Sprinklr Client
Updated
A web browser is a software application used to locate, retrieve and display content on the World Wide Web, including webpages, images, videos, and other files. As a client/server model, the browser is the client run on a computer or mobile device that contacts the Web server and requests information. The web server sends the information back to the browser which displays the results on the Internet-enabled device that supports a browser. Sprinklr supports two types of browsers:
Evergreen browsers
The term evergreen browser refers to browsers that are automatically upgraded to future versions, rather than being updated by the distribution of new versions from the manufacturer, as was the case with older browsers. For such browsers, it's a common understanding that the users are always working on the latest version. If not, then they would be using the same browser which is just a version, or at the most, two versions behind. Hence, for the evergreen browsers, Sprinklr provides support for the latest version along with the two last major release versions. For example, if the latest version of Google Chrome in production is 79, then Sprinklr will provide support for all the major and patch releases associated with it starting from 77, 78, and 79.
Non-evergreen browsers
For some browsers, major version updates happen during OS (Operating System) updates. They do not auto-update themselves. Examples of such browsers are Microsoft Edge and Safari
