Add a Telegram Account

Updated 

Telegram is a cross-platform, cloud-based instant messaging software and application service. Once Telegram has been enabled in your environment, you can add your Telegram Bot account on Sprinklr just like other accounts. 


To learn more about getting this capability enabled in your environment, please work with your Success Manager.

To Add a Telegram Account

  1. Click the New Tab icon Space Add New Tab Icon. Under the Sprinklr Social tab, click Owned Social Accounts within Listen.
  2. In the Accounts (Settings) window, click Add Account in the top right corner. 
  3. In the Add Account window, search and select Telegram Bot from the list of channels.AddAccount_TelegramBot.png
  4. In the Add Telegram Bot Account window, enter the required details for your new account. For more information, see Telegram Bot Account Addition — Field Descriptions.AddAccount_TelegramBot_DisplayName.png
  5. Click Save in the bottom right corner to add the account details. Next, you'll be able to edit your account details and permission the account.
  6. On the Update Account window,
    • Edit basic details of your account in Account Details, including changing the name of the account as it appears in Sprinklr, changing the Sprinklr User who is the owner of the account, creating a custom character count (which will apply to replies sent in Sprinklr), a default URL shortener, and an auto-populated signature to appear in replies sent from Sprinklr.
    • Under Groups to include Account in, select if you'd like to add the Telegram Bot account to any Account Groups.
    • Under Permissions, permission channel actions to Users and User Groups who should have access to the account. Learn more in Account Permissions.
    • Under Share this Account Across Spaces, choose the Workspaces that you would like the account to be visible in or share across all Workspaces to make the account visible globally within your Customer environment.
    • Under Subscribers, select Users or User Groups to subscribe to them to receive account notifications.
    • Under Timezone, select a country and time zone to associate with the account if desired.
    • Under Properties, set any account properties as needed.
  7. Click Save in the bottom right corner.

Telegram Bot Account Addition — Field Descriptions

Term Description
Upload Image Click Upload Image to add a photo from the Media Uploader. You can also select media to upload from your device.
Display Name Enter the desired name for your Telegram account. It is a reference field for the identification of Telegram account in Sprinklr.
Bot Token Enter the Bot Token of the Telegram account. You will get the information related to Token from Telegram. 

Appendix — How to get Telegram Bot Token?

  1. In your Telegram App, find a Telegram bot named @BotFather, it will help you with creating and managing your bot.

  2. Enter /help and you will see all possible commands that the botfather can operate.

  3. To create a new bot enter /newbot or click on it. 


    Tip 

    Next, follow the instructions given by the app and create a new name for your bot.

  4. You've just created your Telegram bot. You will see a new API token generated for it. In the sample above it's 270485614:AAHfiqksKZ8WmR2zSjiQ7_v4TMAKdiHm9T0.
  5. Thus, copy the bot token to use it while adding the Telegram Bot Account in Sprinklr.
